I don't even play PvP and I like this addition. Hopefully it signals more usage of the online store and one day some content there that I will want.
The price does seem about $5 too hight though, but thats coming from a PvEer and not a PvPer.

I've fixed the EU pages. It indeed should say eight, as is indicated if you read up the page a few lines where it clearly lists access to the two Factions professions.
So, just to confirm - the Factions edition grants access to the original 6 professions and the 2 new ones and all the skills that Factions offers.

So..Does this mean we'll see a time where we can purchase FoW/15K skinned weapons through PvP?
Considering that theres a Balthazar Faction cap,and the fact that there is really nothing much more to gain with Faction if you've unlocked all skills through the PvP editions, other than runes or weapon mods, but if you're only playing this game via PvP,chances are you will have those unlocked in a couple of hours.

I think this is a good addition as it provides the option for people who don't like PvE and the grind to get it all unlocked and to just dive in with the PvP side of things.
As mentioned above, it should clarify if it unlocks everything (runes/upgrades etc.) too or just skills?
FoW/Other skins are from the PvE campaigns so I don't see why those should come with it really. That said maybe a nice idea to add some PvP rewards/skins too in future

I think they should release PvE packs as well now, due to the fact that PvP players got the skills in the first place by playing through PvE, the same as PvE players.
I suppose you could release all chapter packs for people who want access to all skills in PvE play, but don't forget, you have to earn a hell of a lot of experience to get enough skill points to collect all the skills, so it does work out.

The skill unlock pack just unlocks the skills, it doesn't unlock the chapter. This does, and unlocks ALL the skills, all at once. Seems like a decent deal to me.

Ok, nice thing this is. But, I dont understand why is there a two different versions of the PvP edition? Why should i even buy the profesies edition, if i only get the six core professions?
I think there should be only 1 version to have it all, and release same time as the normal Nightfall so it would have all 10 proffessions and all the pvp stuff unlocked.
I dont get something? If i play serious higheng pvp i really liked to have it all.

It's a very good deal for the PvP-only players, and I'm sure ANet has been barraged by requests for this feature since Prophesies first shipped. Now there's no need for the PvP'ers to grind the entire PvE game (the horror! ) just to get the skills.
IMHO an unintended consequence is that it will be tougher for the PvE-oriented player who occasionally does PvP to survive in the arenas and GvG's: Players with the PvP Pack will have every skill combo option at their fingertips. PvE'ers will only have the ones they have unlocked via quests or purchased from skill trainers.
Woooooooooooot! <--------sarcasm

Just yesterday updated an old Prophecies-only account that had been converted to PVP-only with the Factions PVP Pack.
You do gain access to Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry.
You can create characters with either Prophecies or Factions face, hair and armor. The Factions-style armors that were disabled for Prophecies-only accounts are now available.
There seems to be a minor bug in character creation. At last try, when creating a new character, no Factions skills show on the skill list during character creation. Factions skills do show on the skill bar if you create a character using one of the standard templates (though they still are not on the skill list ). Factions skills do show up on your list once you go to the Temple of Balthazar.

I'm guessing that this doesn't affect runes or item upgrades? Seeing as how you're buying the PvP version, I think it should.

Speaking as someone who unlocked every Prophecies/Factions Necromancer skill (and almost all Warrior skills) the legit way, can't we get some kind of title or something? Master [Class] or Headmaster [Class] or something?

Correct, there are no new item or rune unlocks included. If you are starting from a Prophecies account, you will need to do some unlocking before running a primary Assassin or Ritualist.

Also, a person's time is most certainly worth money, not even taking into account their salary. Each person has a limited amount of time and so any activity they do has an opportunity cost associated with it, representing what they could have been doing with their time instead. This opportunity cost can be translated to money, and is the reason I didn't buy the full version of Factions at this point. Paying $40 is worth more to me than spending the time grinding skills when a new chapter is about to be released.

Once you create the character, are the the skills available when you pull up the 'K' screen ? If so, it doesn't really hamper you, except it is something ANet needs to fix.

i made a thread about this a month or two ago and got flamed for suggesting it.
im glad anet was listening, Ill have no use for it myself but itll really help new players out- and still being able to use Faction to unlock weapons and runes is the best way they could have done it.
They should keep all the elites unlocked though, access yes, but unlocked no.
But in the end, I only see this as a good thing- a pvp only version of the game is super cool and still very much worth the cost for those that dont have the game yet.

i do have to agree- fow (or any 15k!) armor should never be available to pvp characters. It would devalue the coolness factor that we pve ppl spend a lot of time working toward. I think above anything, that the pvp-only characters should be stuck with 1.5k armor no matter what.

The 'K' screen will show all the correct skills once you exit the character creation screens and you can redo your skill bar as soon as you go to the Temple of Balthazar. They just do not show up during PVP character creation. This is an annoyance rather than a major problem.
Should point out that NO Factions skills currently show during PVP character creation, including those for core classes.

Excellent move Anet!
But i have some concerns and an idea::
How about Nightfall? It was announced before that there won't be selling unlocks for the newest chapter. And it should be so - selling Nightfall unlocks right now would be plain wrong.
But there are plenty of PvP-only players right now who would like to get access to Nightfall skills but aren't interested in the PvE game. So my idea is to sell a version of PvP Edition without the unlocks, cheaper and available right at Nightfall launch. And i think there's no reason there shouldn't be No-Unlocks versions of PvP Editions for previous chapters aswell.
PS. theres a mistake in the online store where it says that Prophecies pvp edition gives access to all *eight* Prophecies professions. Clearly a copy-paste from the Factions one.
